@JMaxB I understand what you are saying, but I feel the analogy to Jewish solidarity misses the ethnic aspect of Judaism (especially in the United States, where 90%+ of us are Ashkenazi). Saying some isn’t a Jew is like saying someone isn’t Irish. For example, I consider myself a Jew even though religiously I’m a non-theistic Quaker.

It is hard to see Hasidic Jews go off the deep end in a similar way to what you are talking about though. The mask riots in Brooklyn this summer were heartbreaking and infuriating (especially as they compared some Hasidic journalists to Nazi collaborators).
